Every point comes from a check you can see.
Your score is out of 100. It comes only from your public listing page, your gallery images and Amazon search data from DataForSEO. Every point comes from a written rule. An AI vision model only sorts your gallery images by type and checks whether their text is readable; it never picks your score. Your answers to our questions don't change it.
Want the short version first? The free Amazon listing audit page sums up what the score checks and what it can’t see.
Images 30 points
| Check | Points | How it's measured |
|---|---|---|
| Image count | 4 | Full points at 8 or more images (Amazon's image guide recommends at least six images beyond the main image, plus a video): 7 images 3, 6 images 2, 5 images 1, fewer 0. |
| Pure-white main image | 5 | Amazon requires a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255) on the main image. We look at the background pixels along the edges of your main image (not your product): 85% or more pure white earns 5, 60% or more earns 2. If your product reaches the edges and there is no background to measure, this check is marked "not checked". |
| Product fills the frame | 4 | Amazon asks for the product to fill 85% or more of the main image. 85% or more earns 4, 75% to 84% earns 2. Measured only when the background is white. |
| Zoom-ready resolution | 3 | Amazon's image guide asks for 1,000 px or more on the longest side so shoppers can zoom. Our own bar for full points is higher: 1,600 px or more earns 3, 1,000 to 1,599 earns 1.5, smaller earns 0. |
| Gallery image types | 9 | We look at every image in your gallery (an AI vision model sorts each image into a type; it does not set your score directly) and count four key types: a benefit infographic, the product in use, size and dimensions, and a close-up detail. All 4: 9 points. 3: 6. 2: 3. 1: 1. None: 0. |
| Text readable on a phone | 5 | Most shoppers browse on a phone, where gallery images are about 375 px wide. Every image with text readable at that size: 5. 60% or more of them: 2. Fewer: 0. If no gallery image has text, this check is skipped. |
Keywords 20 points
| Check | Points | How it's measured |
|---|---|---|
| Search demand covered | 9 | We take up to the top 20 search phrases for your product by monthly volume and add up the volume your title, Item Highlights and bullets cover (the description does not count: shoppers rarely read it). Only 100% of the demand earns full points; 70% or less earns none; in between earns a share. When we find fewer than 15 phrases with search volume, this check counts for less and the results page says "Limited search data". |
| Top phrases in the title | 6 | Is the #1 phrase in your title (3 points)? Phrases #2 and #3 (1.5 each)? |
| Searches for your product type | 5 | We take the top 10 Amazon searches for your product type (for example "chew toy"), whether or not your listing shows up for them, and count how many appear in your title, Item Highlights or bullets. 8 or more of 10: 5 points. 3 or fewer: 0. In between earns a share. With fewer than 5 such searches, this check is skipped. |
Title 20 points
| Check | Points | How it's measured |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 10 | Since July 27, 2026, Amazon requires titles of 75 characters or fewer, including spaces, in all categories except media (books, music, video: up to 200). 25 to 75 characters: 10. Under 25: 4. 76 to 90: 3. Over 90: 0. |
| No policy problems | 6 | No banned characters, no promo words ("best", "free shipping"), no word more than twice, no keyword-list formatting. No problems: 6. One problem: 3. Two or more: 0. |
| Brand first | 4 | Your title starts with your brand name. |
Bullets 20 points
| Check | Points | How it's measured |
|---|---|---|
| Five bullets | 4 | 5 or more: 4. 3 or 4: 2. 1 or 2: 1. None: 0. |
| Readable length | 8 | Each bullet between 100 and 250 characters earns its full share (70 to 99, or 251 to 280, earns a quarter): enough to say something, short enough to read on a phone. Amazon sets the maximum per product type, so check the limit for yours. |
| Phone readability | 8 | No HTML or links, no emoji, no more than 4 words in a row in capitals, no word repeated 4 times, no claims Amazon restricts (eco-friendly, antibacterial, money-back). No issues: 8. One: 5. Two: 3. Three or more: 0. |
Item Highlights + description 10 points
| Check | Points | How it's measured |
|---|---|---|
| Item Highlights present | 4 | The short line under your title, 125 characters or fewer: 4 (longer: 2). Not every category shows Item Highlights; when we can’t read them from the page, this check is marked "not checked" and left out of your score. |
| Description or A+ content | 6 | A+ content present: 6. A description of 1,000 characters or more: 4. 300 to 999 characters: 2. Shorter: 0. |

Only listings that pass nearly every check reach Strong.
When a check can't run
If search data is unavailable, or an image can't be read, we mark those checks "not checked", score you on the checks that did run, and rescale to 100. The results page says so, for example "Scored on 4 of 5 categories".
Search volumes
Search volumes are estimated monthly searches on Amazon US from DataForSEO. They are estimates, not Amazon's own numbers. We round them to two significant figures.
What we don't check
- Backend search terms (they're not public).
- A+ content quality (we only see whether it's there).
- Whether your gallery images are well designed or persuasive (we check which types are there and whether their text is readable on a phone).
- Sales, conversion, ads and reviews.
Same listing, same score
If anyone scored the same listing in the last 24 hours and the listing hasn't changed, we show that result. Re-checking after you change your listing is free, within the same daily limits.
